Travel, dogs, and yoga—the joy of sharing experiences.

Thanks for joining me on my journey to spend more time doing the things I love. I work long hours and try to make time for things that make me smile. I hope these “tails” will inspire you to create a bit of joy in your life each week!

The Dogs

The current crew includes: Fiona, Woody, Grinder, and Anna. Three of them are Alaska natives, two of those are sled dogs. But, I would not be a native Floridian without our fourth, a rescue pup from Miami! I’ll let them introduce themselves.

Please address me as Princess Fiona, although I will sometimes respond to Fi, Fifilicious, Fi Fi, or just Princess. I am the daughter of Ugly Petit and moved from Alaska to Florida when I was just eight weeks old. I love going to the park, feeling the wind blow through my beautiful hair, reminding my parents when they should serve me dinner (fresh Alaskan salmon, please), and managing the entire household.

Hola, I’m Woody—just Woody. I roamed the streets of Miami for a while in my younger days. Back then, people called me Rubio because I’m blonde. When I was first rescued, I would only eat fast food hamburgers. But, I’ve grown to love high quality kibble and fancy table scraps. I love going for car rides, barking at everything that passes by the front door, and food. Boy do I love food. I’ll eat anything.

Alaskan sleddog Team Petit

I’m Grinder—how do ya like me so far? I retired to Florida from Team Petit’s sled dog team when I was 8 months old due to bad knees—I never even got into a harness. After 3 surgeries at University of Florida and ongoing physical therapy and chiropractor sessions, I’m good as new! I love running, playing, agility, and my mom.

My name is Anna. I just joined the family in 2023 after retiring from my professional sled dog career in Alaska. I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve run the Iditarod a bunch of times and finished in the top ten more than once! I’m not sure why, but my new Florida family sometimes calls me “the Banana” or “Anna Banana”—I don’t mind, even though it is not terribly creative. I love laying by the pool, short walks, and lounging on the couch.
