Yoga Retreat in Morocco
I did not plan on attending a yoga retreat, let alone one in Morocco. I learned that Soul Tribe Adventures had one spot left after I attended the Yogi Flight School “Ninja's in North Carolina” weekend (Nathania is the “top yogi” at both companies and I’ve been taking her online live course). With only about 6 weeks from decision time to the start of the retreat, Gary (who runs Soul Tribe Adventures) was super patient with my initial indecision. I am just so fortunate that I snagged the last spot, ended up with a super great roommate, and had enough airline points to get there and back on “short” notice! I thought work could be problem, but after almost 23 years at the same company it was all sorted out.
The yoga classes were amazing and exactly what I’ve come to expect from the Yogi Flight School founder! The pre-breakfast class was always a great flow that naturally incorporated arm balances. We also had multiple classes throughout the day from arm balance/inversion workshops, to yoga nidra or “chill,” and myofascial release. Gary ran a great half-hour non-yoga metabolic workout that was tough and invigorating. I learned a lot in every class I took, whether it was a new way to access a pose or attempting a new transition. To be fair, there was so much more to this retreat than “just” yoga,” and I encourage anyone to jump out of their comfort zone and do something unplanned to expand personal growth and development in ways that do not seem accessible back at home.
